Swedish acquaintance Kostoulas has sold Panetolikos to an American businessman

After 17.5 years of successful management under Fotis Kostoulas, Panetolikos has changed ownership.  The Swedish association has sold its majority share in the Agrini club to the American businessman Maciek Kaminsiki, who early last autumn showed interest in Everton.

After 17.5 years at the helm, it was clear yesterday Thursday (8/12) that Panetoliko's Swedish-acquainted owner Fotis Kostoulas has decided to sell his majority share in the Agrini club to the American businessman Maciek Kaminski. Kostoulas is the man behind the travel company Apollo. He founded the company in the 1980s together with Georgios Hadjis. The company developed over time and is today one of the leading companies in its industry in all of Scandinavia.

In the summer of 2005, Kostoulas stepped into Panetolikos, which at the time was in a state of crisis. A club he later gradually came to make stronger in a very nice way. The club has Kostoulas to thank for a lot. He changed the entire "Titormus" club history. Under the Greek-Swedish's rule, the club has gone from the abyss of the lower divisions to becoming a stable, well-organized Super League club with excellent facilities.

At the same time, Kostoulas is a respected name in Greek football not only for his fine deed in Panetolikos, but also because he rarely bowed to the different wishes of the big clubs.  During his ownership, the club has also collaborated with the majority of Swedish player agencies, which has resulted in many Swedes or Swedish-familiar players being found in Panetolikos.

At the moment, Jacob Une Larsson, Johan Mårtensson, Jonathan Morsay and IFK Göteborg's former goalkeeper Giannis Anestis are found in the club.

Kostoulas has been looking for a suitable successor for some time and has now found the person he trusts will take over where he leaves off.

Maciek Kaminiki is an American businessman with Polish roots who is active in, among other things, the real estate industry on the other side of the Atlantic. Earlier last autumn, he was linked with a takeover of Premier League club Everton.

The deal between Kostoulas-Kaminski also includes the eminent training facility Emileon located just southwest of Agrinio.

Kaminiski has already had time to hold his first press conference and some of his first words on Thursday evening were: - We want to make the club even stronger on various levels.  Advance in the table, improve the club facilities even more to make the players better in parallel.

We want to create a winning team just like Kostoulas wanted.  He concluded by saying the following: - I thank everyone present at the press conference.  What we wish is for the team to grow just like the training facility.  We also want to continue developing our academy. Thanks to all the residents of Agrinio for the warm welcome.

What kind of changes will take place at board level and what possible sporting plan in the form of e.g. the playing squad remains to be seen.

Panetolikos has had a relatively good autumn under the leadership of coach Giannis Anastasious and is in a fine seventh place before the restart of the league after the World Cup in Qatar is over.
