While they have arrived in Piraeus, generally at the tail end of their careers, it has still created significant national and international attention. What does Aris really need from their new manager to succeed? By Nikolas fil Hours after the 1-0 defeat to Ionikos, Aris announced that they are parting ways with English manager Alan Pardew. But wait we’ve seen this before, in fact since the 04/05 season there isn’t a single Aris manager that finished the season at the top flight as the manager of the club, except Akis Matzios. T oday we will see what Aris’ new manager needs to do, to you know at least finish the season in Thessaloniki. This season Aris concede 0.9 goals per game ranking 5th in the Superleague for this particular category. They score 1 goal per g ame on average sitting, again 5th in this category. The new manager needs to try and make Aris more solid at the back, but he also needs to try new things in the attacking third. However, the Spaniard found himself as the starting right back with his Croatian counterpart's consistent injury problems. Despite a solid start to life in Piraeus, Avila was the culprit for a foul in the dying moments of the derby against Panathinaikos. This ultimately led to a penalty and Olympiakos dropping points in a game they were seconds from winning.
