Effective Player Rating Greece v Slovenia UNL Qualifier
Effective Player Rating Greece v Slovenia UNL Qualifier

Greece's much anticipated encounter with Slovenia for top spot of the League C group had much following and anticipation with promotion to League B on the line and a possible World Cup Qualifying life line if Qualification does not go to plan.
Sadly the Ethniki, lead by Dutch coach, John Van't Ship, was not able to score the goal that would have landed an important win and promotion, instead the team, whilst dominating most of the game, like we did in the first game with Slovenia, came away with another 0-0 draw which keeps Greece in League C of the UEFA Nations League.
One positive to come away from the draw was that Greece is now in pot 3 for the UEFA 2022 World Cup Qualification draw instead of pot 4.
Greece's achilles heel continues to be goal scoring, whilst never the teams strong point, 6 goals in as many games, and all against Kosovo and Moldova in 3 games is not great and we couldn't score on Slovenia in both games.
In terms of effectiveness on the field the players scored as per below:
K Fortounis 90 minutes - 3.75 points - The Olympiakos attacker did his all to get something happening for Greece but was unsuccessful, despite some poor set pieces, Fortounis created our best chances and should have had an assist for Kourbelis
C Zeca 67 minutes - 2.5 points - Zeca covered much ground in the midfield and was a key player in winning possession for the team
D Limnios 90 minutes - 2.5 points - Although Limnios scored the 3rd best score, he needs to work on his final delivery and finishing, with pace to burn he can turn defenders and put a dangerous cross in but it needs to start finding his team mates
G Tzavellas 78 minutes - 2 points - The veteran defender played a good game overall and got in the Slovenian attackers face many times
P Hatzidiakos 90 minutes - 2 points - The 23 year old was up for all that came his way and had to sacrifice himself at the end on a Slovenian getaway to goal resulting in a red card
A Bakasetas 90 minutes - 2 points - A couple of good shots at goal were his main highlight but not enough in general for such an important position and that's highlighted in our total goals in this campaign
K Tsimikas 90 minutes - 1.75 points - The Liverpool defender tried and tried all game but sadly nothing come to fruition, valiant effort on the left
D Kourbelis 90 minutes - 1.25 points - The low score almost highlights what is offered at times with two CDM's in these matches. Ultimately should have scored the critical goal set up by Fortounis
H Mavrias 90 - 1.25 points - Played the whole game even though he was visibly very tired after the first half, was not as effective as we saw in the Cyprus and Moldova games, should have been subbed at half time
G Giakoumakis 45 minutes - 1 point - Only had one half, didn't have many chances and the one he had he miss hit, should have started in the second half
V Pavlidis 45 minutes - 1 point - Took over from Giakoumakis, had a very slow start to the half as did the team and was unlucky not to score a nice bicycle kick
O Vlahodimos 90 minutes - 0.5 points - Low score but was not challenged by the Slovenian attack which says something
C Tzolis 23 minutes - 0.5 points - Was brought on way too late and didn't have many opportunities to showcase his skill and vision
G Masouras 12 minutes - 0.25 points - Like Tzolis, brought into the game way too late, we could have used his energy earlier
