Gamma Ethniki Promotion Playoffs


It’s crunch time in Gamma Ethniki, as the 8 group winners from the regular season battle it out to see which 4 of those clubs will earn promotion to the Football League for 2018/19.

The 8 group winners will be split into 2 groups of 4, they will each play each other twice, with the top 2 in each group earning promotion to the Football League for the 2018/19 season.

The 8 clubs who have qualified for these playoffs include:


GROUP 1:

Apollon Paralimniou – From Serres in Eastern Macedonia.

Iraklis – Looking to quickly climb back up the divisions.

Tilikratis – A club from the island of Lefkada.

Volos NFC – A Thessalian club who topped their group by a whopping 17 points.

GROUP 2:
Asteras Amaliadas – From the town of Amaliada in the North-West of the Peloponnese.

Ethnikos Piraeus – Looking to return to the Football League after a decade.

Aittitos Spata – A club from the Eastern outskirts of Athens.

Irodotos – A club from Crete, which was founded in 1932 by refugees from the city of Halicarnassus in Asia Minor (modern-day Bodrum in Turkey). They are based in the municipality of Nea Alikarnassos in Heraklion.

The schedule will be released in the next few days. The playoffs are set to begin April 22.
