Olympiakos season review; Rating every main player on the roster
Reminder; These ratings are opinion based and subjective. They are based on the author’s observations and opinions of the squad.

Goalkeepers

Jose Sa 9/10
Started off the season as the clubs #2 keeper and bid his time till he was given a chance. a string of top performances saw him hold on to the jersey and make his loan deal permanent. was recently called up to the Portuguese national team

Andreas Gianniotis 3/10
Started the season as the #1 keeper but after a string of bad performances was dropped, with a falling out soon afterwards he wass banished from the side.

Yuri Lodygin -/10
Came is as back up and played minimal game time. Likely to stay on if a deal can be done.

Defenders

Pape Abou Cisse 7.5/10
The Rock was indeed the rock when on song. some odd games meant that you didn't know what to expect but still is a major part of the team going forward

Yassin Meriah 6/10
Tunisian International that did not set the world alight. One of the many players that rotated through the defensive line that will need to challenge fort a starting spot next year otherwise should be moved on.

Jagos Vukovic 6/10
Started off the season as the main man but didn't end it that way. Looks to be moving on

Kostas Tsimikas 7/10
Came back after a successful loan in Holland, did not play every game and at times found himself on the bench but solidified his place in the squad.

Leonardo Koutris 7.5/10
Solid and dependable, the Greek International played 23 games in all competitions for the club. Playing in a defensive line that chopped and changed a lot he will be looking to cement his spot in the team moving forward.

Omar Elabdellaoui 7/10
Right back who you would know what you got from. Played 31 games with 5 goals in all competitions this season. At the club since 2014 but has had an up and down time here. I think Martins may have found the touch that was needed.

Vasilios Torosidis 8/10
Mr dependable, he came back to Greece after a successful career in Italy to help the squad and was a solid veteran in the team. Did not play all games and was mainly used as a squad player but Martins could always count on him when needed.

Avraam Papadopoulos -/10
Came is as back up and played minimal game time. Not sure what the future holds for him.

Midfielders

Mady Camara 7/10
Tough tackling midfielder when on his game was unstoppable. Had an up and down season but still was a key member of the squad.

Guilherme 7/10
32 matches and 5 goals for the Brazilian midfielder was a solid start to his Olympiakos career. Like most of his team mates had a bit of a drop in form but overall was a solid season for him

Bibras Natcho 5/10
Coming as a goal scoring midfielder I wasn't overly impressed by the Israeli this season. On a two year deal so if the club could find a buyer I would hope they sell.

Andreas Bouchalakis 7/10
29 games and 2 goals in all competitions for the midfielder who returned back to his parent club after being on loan at Nottingham Forest. Did not disappoint but was not an automatic starter either.

Kostas Fortounis 9.5/10
Our player of the season Kostas was the teams linchpin, heart and soul. Expected to sign a long term contract with an updated salary if he can continue his form and reach the potential everyone knows hes capable of he will be moving to a bigger and better league soon enough.

Daniel Podence 8/10
One of coach Martins big summer signings started off the season on fire. had a mid season blip which he never really covered from. Potential galore with a long term contract big things are expected of him.

Georgios Masouras 7/10
Came in during the January transfer window and was eased into the team. Did well when given an opportunity and is one for the future.

Gil Dias 4/10
Came in during the January transfer window but did not reach the levels that were expected. on an 18 month loan deal but if the club can cancel it then it would be beneficial for both parties.

Lazaros Christodoulopoulos 7/10
Big things were expected of him and he did deliver in patches. never really nailed down a spot and was at times deployed as a striker. A season ending injury got him midway through the season.

Yaya Toure -/10
Arrived to much fan fare but was reportedly unfit and could not get back into the shape required to compete. Was released within months and went on to retire after not finding a club.

Forwards

Franco Soldano -/10
Came in during the January transfer window touted as the clubs answer to our goal scoring woes but sadly did not get much game time. Don't know what to think so will reserve judgement when he gets a full preseason under his belt but if you asked me now I don't think he is the answer.

Miguel Angel Guerrero 5/10
Up and down season for the 28 year old Spaniard who game with big expectations but with with 7 goals in all competitions left a lot to be desired for.

Ahmed Koka Hassan 8/10
Started the season in indifferent form but finished off like a man possessed. 15 goals in 30 games was a great return considering the way he started. A reported 4 million euro buy out clause is the stumbling block between him staying and going back to his parent club Braga. Hope they keep him.

Dimitrios Manos -/10
Manos was bought on potential after leading the goal scoring charts in FLGR for OFI and was eased into the squad but sadly didn't deliver. Was loaned out in January and looks like his days might be numbered at the club.

Total - 6.8/10
Some guns and some hit and miss players for Martins in his first season at the club. Will need to move on the players that he cannot trust and look to stay solid with a defensive partnership. We also need to find a proven goal scorer if we are to have success at the club.
