Effective Player Rating - Moldova v Greece ENL Qualifier

Effective Player Rating - Moldova v Greece ENL Qualifier

By Greg Gavalas

Greece secured a good 2-0 win away from home and this now sets up a "grand final" with Slovenia for top spot in the group.

Greece was in control of the match from kick off and we would have really scored more than 2 goals which again, shows we need improvement with our finishing and final product in attack.

It was good to see the wing backs be effective and a master showing from one, Kostas Fortounis

Effective player ratings as per below:

K Fortounis 65 minutes - 4 points - An excellent game by Fortounis who showed his class with a wonder goal that will make many highlight reels, a must start with Slovenia, great to see him starting

A Bakasetas 90 minutes - 3.5 points - A slow start from the captain but his combinations with Fortounis really paid off and that was capitalized with his second international goal, big improvement from the Cyprus game

K Tsimikas 62 minutes - 2.5 points  - Tsimikas is quickly reminding is of his talent and why he is so valuable for the team, great game with excellent runs down the left

H Mavrias 90 minutes - 2.25 points - Once again makes the top 5 effective player ratings. Is holding up well on the right in both defense and attack, always looking to make his runs down the right, good addition to our surprise

D Limnios 78 minutes - 1.5 points - Possibly the first game in the JVS era we didnt see many of the Limnios runs on the right but he had a solid game and decent combination with Mavrias

C Zeca 90 minutes - 1.25 points - Quite but busy game for Zeca, with the amount of possession Greece had he didn't have to do as much of his dirty work

G Tzavellas 90 minutes - 1.25 points - Held the line well and put in some good passes and clearing headers

A Bouchalakis 90 minutes - 1.25 points - Did some good things with first time passes and looking for gaps but his passing % must be low, tried many impossible passes or passes that were never on which lead to easy turn overs for Moldova

V Pavlidis 78 minutes - 1.25 points - Had one decent chance all be at a hard angle, just didn't get himself in position to land another strike or two

O Vlahodimos 90 minutes - 1 point - Was not tested much and when he was he was fine

P Hatzidiakos 90 minutes - 0.75 points - Low score but was simply not testes much, sweet passer of the ball

G Kiriakopoulos 28 minutes - 0.75 points - Came on and was hungry for some good 1-2 action, looking forward to seen more of him in the future

D Chatzigiovanis 12 minutes - 0.75points - Good points for such little time, had some good moments, needs to work on passing at the right time

C Tzolis 25 minutes - 0.5 points - Tried some good things that just didnt pay off

G Gioakoumakis 12 minutes - 0.5 points - Found himself in space towards the end but was on a tight angle, should see him start v Slovenia.
